Leaders from multiple systems come together to share their work, coordinate services, network, and learn new strategies.

Children's Work Group Conference - April 2023
The Children's Work Group Early Childhood Conference was held on Friday, April 21st and featured Sean Perkins, Chief of Early Childhood Education for the City of Philadelphia Office of Children and Families. Perkins discussed efforts to unify the early childhood education system in Philadelphia and the development of a universal PreK system. Additionally, the conference featured a discussion on environments within shelters and advocacy opportunities.

Children's Work Group Conference - March 2023
The Children Work Group Early Childhood Conference featured Dr. Jeanette Herbers of Villanova University on her findings from a survey of national shelter providers, discussing their training needs for working with young children in families experiencing homelessness.
Dr. Herbers, a HopePHL Visiting Scholar, showed hard evidence that emergency housing can be a positive factor for parents and young children, especially when there is an emphasis on child development. She is partnering with the Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services to offer training to family emergency shelter staff of how to maximize support for your young children. |
