On Saturday, April 5, we joined some inspiring community members at Sloan Street Garden for the NAC Garden Work Party, as part of the annual Philly Spring Clean-Up. Although the weather was rainy, it didn't stop us from rolling up our sleeves and working together.
In addition to tidying up, the team planted a variety of fresh produce, which will not only beautify the garden but also provide healthy food options for local residents. Thank you to everyone for your hard work on a Saturday morning! We are already looking forward to our next visit to Sloan Street Garden, where we can continue to support and nurture our community's green spaces!

The Wellness Exercise, which began 8 years ago with volunteers Colin Pustilnik and Chris Major, takes place every Sunday at Youth Emergency Service. The volunteers pair physical exercise with motivational and stress reduction activities for the youth. By strengthening the body and the mind, The Wellness Exercise helps young people living at YES to prepare for the coming week.
This week we had a special guest - Maryann McEvoy, Executive Director & Child Advocate for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania/ PA Office of Advocacy and Reform, part of Governor Shapiro's office. HopePHL is grateful to Colin, Chris, Maryann, and all the volunteers for spending time with our youth!
